NAMCHI is known as Sky-High city in SIKKIM, a north eastern state of India with a population of 50,000. The city was selected to be a smart city for the implementation of IoT/OT/ICT solutions with an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) being the focal point for unified management of city operations.

Smart Transport
Real time tracking of public transport: Improved tracking of running status of public buses is achieved through real time data feed
Enhanced safety & security of citizens: Enhanced security at bus shelters was observed due to deployment of CCTV cameras.
Effective Public Information Display: PIS and Billboards aided display of real time information related to public buses, covid 19 etc in public interest.
Smart SWM
Improved Waste Collection services: Increase in door-to-door collection of garbage by swachh workers.
Real time monitoring of waste collection vehicles: GPS tracking helped authorities to identify the wards covered by the vehicles for garbage collection
Increase in situational awareness: Due to installation of cameras at black spots, dumping of garbage by the citizens at those spots is reduced. It has also helped CCB for timely clearing of the garbage at those spots.
Automated digital reports: All the above activities are monitored in ICCC by CCB representatives, and reports of garbage collected at dump yards can be downloaded by authorities.
Adaptive Traffic
Enhancement of road safety: A reduction in accident rate and execution of traffic discipline by citizens was observed after deployment of ATMS.
Automated traffic management: All the traffic signals are controlled through 96software from ICCC. Thus, preventing any manual intervention at signals.
Smart Water
Real time monitoring of water quality: The Integrated Information Management system ensures real time monitoring of water quality. The data is assessed and displayed at the CKC platform in ICCC.
